RECENT Grant Recipients

EgoPo Classic Theater

EgoPo is a non-profit theatre company in Philadelphia that produces unique themed seasons. CDF sponsored EgoPo's 2022-2023 Harlem Renaissance Season, which featured two world premiere adaptations of Harlem Renaissance literature, a soul-food inspired Gala, and a Mid-Season Social that hosted a nationally acclaimed panel talking to the effects of the Harlem Renaissance on American culture. With the CDF's assistance, EgoPo was able to hire 100 arts workers in the tri-state area (66% of which were queer, a person of color, or have a disability) and impact 2,800 attendees from 22 different states. CDF also sponsored EgoPo’s 2023-2024 season, “Crossing Oceans” which examined colonialism and post-colonialism in Africa and the cultural history of Indonesia.

CDF is proud to announce that we are sponsoring EgoPo’s 2024-2025 season — “Queer Revolutions.” Queer inclusion long has been a source of pain for Black and Latino queer communities including the artists that EgoPo supports. Thus, CDF is delighted to take a leadership role this season by lending our visible and financial support to the season.
